Hey, Prayer Warriors in the Closet! I've returned!
I trust you're all persevering and finding strength in the Father’s embrace. Let's strive to walk in His will, not relying on our own understanding. This isn't the moment for debating our emotions against what God has clearly spoken to us.
Welcome to part 2 of my latest blog post, 'Mountains and Miracles: Trusting God's Provision.' If you haven't had the chance to read it yet, I recommend doing so before diving into this one. The journey of how God orchestrated this trip was nothing short of amazing, and it involved pushing through tough and uncomfortable moments, essential for developing my leadership character. So, if you haven't already, go back and catch up on the previous post.
In my previous post, I shared about the importance the Lord placed on having children present on this retreat. Many of us have been called generational curse breakers, and to fully understand and embrace this calling, we must be in God's presence and obedient to His instructions. If you're unfamiliar with the term, a generational curse breaker is someone who breaks the cycle of negative patterns, behaviors, and traits passed down through generations. If you sense this calling on your life, seek God's presence and ask for clarity.
We are merely a small piece of the greater work God intends to accomplish on Earth. He doesn't depend on our assistance, yet He graciously chooses to use us for His glory.
My sisters, Melissa and Amina, and I told our sons that we would be going with Abba in New Hampshire to move mountains, and they were excited. In addition to preparing ourselves for the spiritual warfare ahead (because the enemy was mad), we also prepared our boys. We reminded them of what Abba had said and what His Word teaches, had them repeat affirmations and declarations, read scripture with them, and, of course, covered them in prayer. Additionally, my sisters and I fasted together as God instructed.
Despite encountering numerous challenges such as financial struggles, relationship issues, and health concerns, the three of us stayed committed to our path. And you know what? Our boys stayed strong too. We reminded them what Abba had said, and as His children, they heard His voice too. So, whenever anything contradicted God's word, they were ready to fight back.
For instance, after arriving in New Hampshire and settling into the house, I found myself considering the idea of just staying indoors for the weekend and relaxing. I was still thinking about the other women. I thought to myself, "Maybe we should just enjoy the yard and the spacious house." But then, my son Jiraiya, who is 3 feet tall in the physical but stands 6.5 feet tall in the spirit, filled with the Holy Spirit, interrupted my thoughts. Tapping on my shoulder and said, "Mommy, when are we going to move this mountain?" Clearly, the Holy spirt was speaking through him and reminded me of our purpose. He knew we hadn't come all this way just to lounge around; we were here with Abba to move mountains, and move mountains we shall do. LOL
What stood out was how God not only strengthened our faith but also theirs. Before our retreat, the Lord directed me to 2 Kings chapter 4, recounting the Widow's Olive Oil. In this narrative, a woman, facing financial ruin after her husband's death, sought Elisha's counsel to save her sons from debt collectors. Her faith endured the trial. As I read this story, the Lord kept highlighting verse 4 which says, “Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.” You and your sons kept echoing in my mind, and through her obedience to do as she was told, God revealed that not only was her faith strengthened, but her sons' faith was as well.
And in verse 7 it says “She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.” We weren't just strengthening our faith and theirs, but we were also stepping into abundance and overflow!
It was an incredibly memorable experience with our boys. Interestingly, some of the items we purchased were unnecessary because the house we stayed in provided everything we needed. God made sure we were covered in every aspect. I also love how God instructed us to create vision boards with our boys. JJ's vision board proudly hangs on his bedroom wall, serving as a reminder of what God did for us in New Hampshire.
I want to also share what God revealed to me about why my two sisters had to be there. Both with Amina and Melissa, I experienced challenges in our friendship. When things were coming up, I was going to God, saying, "Listen, this friend you said was my friend isn't acting like it. Is it me or her Abba?" LOL I know they were approaching Him with similar questions. We had moments of uncomfortable conversations, periods of separation, and accountability. My friendship, both with Amina and Melissa, is ordained. The enemy attempted to sow seeds of doubt, but Abba had us fighting back. In order to uphold what God had spoken to us about our friendship, we had to confront the issues and reassure the little girl within us, who had been betrayed, rejected, used, and mocked, that it was okay this time.
On our final night before dinner, the Lord instructed me to wash their feet, just as Jesus did
for His disciples, and they, in turn, washed mine. This vision was given to me before the retreat, and Melissa also received it.
In John 13:12-17 it says, “When he had finished washing their feet, he put on his clothes and returned to his place. “Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
Abba said to me, “Just like they have served you this weekend, you have done the same. Keep Love, Honesty, understanding in your sister Circle. Always forgive and be willing to reconcile.”
Proverbs 18:24
“There are “friends” who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother.”
😭😭😭🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 God Wins Again.
To My Soul Sister Melissa, I love you! your constant comfort, attentive listening, uplifting words, accountability, support in every area and organizational skills are deeply appreciated. Your smile and presence, it lights up the room.
To my Warrior sister Amina, the ultimate supporter, the queen of “I’ll pull up”. You're truly remarkable! Despite the enemy's attempts to keep us apart, you stood 10 toes down. Thank you for always lending an ear, fight for reconciliation, holding me accountable, providing comfort, and showering me with love.
You both are incredible friends and mothers. We're raising the most remarkable, resilient, and compassionate boys. God is keeping us throughout our journey. Keep pressing on.
